Going by that logic, armor abilities should NOT be seen in Halo 4. But, then again, from what’s been shown already, Master Chief has been greatly redesigned and 343 Industries may opt to keep the armor abilities a part of the game.

The Good Side of Halo 4

One thing Halo 4 has going for it, which was recently confirmed, is the fact that the BR (battle rifle) is making a return. Halo fans have always adored the BR and were bummed out when it was replaced in Halo: Reach with the inferior DMR. Some of the most popular weapons that defined the series were cut out of Reach such as the BR, beam rifle and carbine. The re-inclusion of the battle rifle is great but will other fan favorites be returning as well? No one knows just yet.

Other than that, there isn’t enough information available yet to really say what else there is to get excited about for Halo 4. The story line isn’t known, details of weapons and vehicles remain up in the air and we don’t even have an exact release date. Halo 4 may be the greatest game ever or it could be a complete disaster, only time will tell.

Final Thoughts: Despite the fact that we don’t know a lot about the game or the fact that many players are disappointed with Reach, Halo 4 is definitely going to be a massive launch this year. With other popular games popping out extra game content almost monthly (such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3) players are wondering when the heck Bethesda is planning on dropping something for Skyrim. So far there has been next to nothing even remotely hinting that downloadable content is coming soon. But, if it’s like other Elder Scrolls titles, it may be worth the wait. Remember the Shivering Isles DLC for Oblivion? Yeah, it was totally worth waiting for.

Why DLC is Expected to Arrive FAST

It seems that because of other game publishers pushing DLC in gamers’ faces all the time that players have come to expect new content for their games faster. The industry has molded gamers into impatient, (sometimes annoyingly so) content-greedy individuals shaking their credit cards in front of their screens. It has almost become sickening. Most players are more than willing to drop $20 on a simple set of 4 maps (of which they MIGHT like 1 or 2) for games like Call of Duty or Halo every month. But is it really worth it?

What Will the Skyrim DLC Be?

Bethesda is known for taking their time in nearly everything they do. Sure, they release games ahead of schedule with bugs and glitches galore but they do take their time to improve gameplay and make extra content. It might be several months before we ever get to see DLC for Skyrim but, rest assured, it’ll more than likely be well worth the wait. Unless they throw another set of horse armor at us… but hopefully they’ve learned their lesson from that past mistake.

More than likely any DLC that comes out for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be more of an expansion pack than just a quickly thrown together pile of boring crap that we’re used to getting with other games. Even Kotaku has stated the Skyrim DLC will be much more expansive than what gamers are used to getting with other popular titles.
